Sarah Lawson | Cognitive Behavioural Therapy |
I currently have limited availability for self-referring clients.
Welcome to my website. I am a qualified and accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and I can help people experiencing a wide range of emotional difficulties such as depression, stress, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias and low self-esteem.
I am fully trained in EMDR – 'Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing' which is an effective treatment for phobias, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other psychological trauma arising from situations such as road traffic or workplace accidents, natural disasters, assault or abuse.
I also work using ACT - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This is one of the developments of CBT (called third wave therapies) that teaches you psychological skills to deal with your painful thoughts and feelings effectively - in such a way that they have much less impact and influence over you (mindfulness). It can also help you to clarify what is truly important and meaningful to you - i.e your values - then use that knowledge to guide, inspire and motivate you to change your life for the better. I am registered with major health insurance companies as an independent practitioner. If you think that these could be the appropriate treatments to help you, but need some more information about what I can offer, I hope that the following pages will help you to decide. See Links page for more information.
